Neular: the Future of Greener Construction Material
Neular is an Estonian company that produces high-quality plastic profiles from the lowest value composite food packaging waste. To their knowledge, there’s no other company like Neular in the Baltics using this lowest value composite plastic in a similar way.
The profiles they manufacture are used in various areas of life, e.g. in the construction of; terraces and gardens, the walls of horse stalls, barrier walls along highways to reduce noise pollution, etc. They’re also used in water engineering infrastructures – and so much more!
In fact, they’re convinced that 99.9% of the possibilities and potential for their products are untapped today, and in reality neither they nor their potential customers know the limit.
Neular uses technology developed and adapted by themselves, which they’ve also patented. They continue to develop these technologies to improve their products and climb up the value chain, having managed to turn pollutant materials into a secondary commodity.
Even so, in order to evaluate their contribution to protecting the environment, Neular realize they need to look at different aspects.
Certainly the most important thing is the amount of plastic that isn’t deposited to landfills and isn’t burned in energy plants; instead, it remains in circulation, so that less non-renewable natural resources have to be mined, from which new plastics are then made.
Neular’s products also help protect forests by replacing wooden materials that would rot quickly in extreme weather conditions.
They also help lessen the pollution of groundwater and seawater, by preventing run-off of the non-decomposing chemicals used in weatherproofing wood.
Neular avoids the use of large quantities of clean drinking water that is usually used in the recycling of waste plastic. Their technology allows waste-free production, i.e. practically no waste is left behind from their process because they recycle it themselves.
Thanks to the high level of efficient automation, as well as the application of green energy sources, their production process is essentially carbon-free.
Neular's activities are no longer a project, but an international, sustainable, and, crucially, an environmentally friendly business.
